Bronx, NY (March 13, 2021) – Around 4 a.m. on Saturday morning, March 13, a fatal hit-and-run pedestrian crash occurred at an intersection in the Bronx.
According to officials, the accident took place at the intersection of Third Avenue and East 155th Street. A pedestrian was crossing the street in the area when he was suddenly struck by a dark-colored sedan. The vehicle then fled the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were present at the scene. The pedestrian, identified only as a 65-year-old male, was found in the area with severe trauma. He was rushed to Lincoln Medical Center but succumbed to his injuries.
Police closed down a portion of the road for a period of time following the crash.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
