Brooklyn, NY (May 11, 2021) – On Tuesday afternoon, May 11, a DUI accident took place at an intersection in Brooklyn.
According to NYPD officials, the accident happened at the intersection of 12th Avenue and 45th Street when two vehicles collided with one another. Police confirmed that NYPD officials were called to look into a possible intoxicated driver in the area. When the NYPD cruiser was going through the intersection, it collided with a second vehicle.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One officer and the driver of the other vehicle were injured and transported to local hospitals.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
