Brooklyn, NY (December 31, 2020) – Around 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday night, December 30, an officer was injured in a Brooklyn pedestrian accident.

The driver of a black Acura MDX was driving on the Eastern Parkway when officers attempted to stop the driver. Officers were out of their vehicle when the driver reversed and struck one of the officers. The driver then fled the scene. It is not known if officers caught up with the responsible driver.

The officer who was struck, who has not yet been identified, received chest and stomach pains as a result of the accident. He was hospitalized.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family in hopes of a full recovery.
