Elmont, NY – Three People injured in Stable Fire on Hempstead Tpke

Elmont, NY (April 14, 2021) – Around 6 p.m. on the evening of Tuesday, April 13, three people were injured in a stable fire in Elmont.

According to officials, the incident took place when a fire suddenly broke out at the Belmont Racetrack Horse stables on the Hempstead Turnpike. Numerous fire departments were called out to the scene so that they could extinguish the fire.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were called to the scene. Three male employees who were present at the stables suffered from smoke inhalation. The parties are expected to make a full recovery.

Two horses were found dead inside the stables when fire crews were able to extinguish the fire.

The investigation into the circumstances of the fire continues.
