Manhattan, NY (February 9, 2021) – Around 6:30 p.m. on Monday evening, February 8, a bicycle crash took place at an intersection in Manhattan.
According to police, the accident happened at the intersection of Delancey Street and Columbia Street around the area of the Williamsburg Bridge. A bicyclist was riding in the area when they were suddenly struck by the driver of a passenger vehicle. The driver then fled the scene of the crash without stopping.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene of the accident. The bicyclist, who has not yet been identified, was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the passenger vehicle later returned to the scene and was arrested by police.
No further details have been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
