Manhattan, NY (April 20, 2021) – Around 7 p.m. on the evening of Monday, April 19, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident in Manhattan.
According to police, the accident took place at Super Foodtown market on West 145th Street. A 39-year-old was in the area when a tractor-trailer started to back into the garage. The truck struck the man, pinning him between the tractor-trailer and a parked trailer.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. The pedestrian was taken to Harlem Hospital but pronounced dead due to traumatic injuries. It is believed that he was an employee who was trying to guide the tractor-trailer at the time of the accident.
The area was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
