Staten Island, NY – Officers Injured in Pedestrian Accident on Livermore Ave

Staten Island, NY (May 30, 2021) – Around 10 a.m. on Sunday morning, a pedestrian accident involving officers took place in Staten Island.

According to officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Livermore Avenue and Forest Avenue. At the time, officers were setting up barriers near the intersection when five were struck by a passenger vehicle driving through the area.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. The five injured NYPD officers were hospitalized with various injuries, though their conditions are not yet known.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the officers, identified as 39-year-old Brian Manning, was taken into custody on charges of driving while intoxicated, assault, and more.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
