West Babylon, NY – Mumtaz Malik Fatally Struck by Car at East Dr and Rt 109

West Babylon, NY (April 03, 2021) – A passing car struck and killed a female pedestrian in West Babylon on Friday, April 2nd.

Officers from the Suffolk County Police Department reported that Lindenhurst resident, Mumtaz Malik, 81, was walking across Route 109 at the intersection of East Drive when she was struck by a 2019 Nissan Altima traveling eastbound at about 8:40 a.m. 

Malik was pronounced dead after her arrival at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip.
