Brooklyn, NY (May 18, 2021) – At 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning, May 18, a fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident occurred in Brooklyn.

According to officials, the accident happened on McGuiness Boulevard around the area of Bayard Street. A 58-year-old male pedestrian was crossing the street when he was struck by a luxury passenger vehicle that was headed south. The vehicle continued driving without stopping.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. The male pedestrian was rushed to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries but he was pronounced deceased while there.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
