Bronx, NY (October 9, 2021) – At 10 p.m. on the night of Friday, October 8, a serious house fire broke out throughout various houses in the Bronx.
According to FDNY crews, the incident happened at a home at East 143rd Street. A home suddenly caught on fire due to reasons that are not yet known, spreading to three other buildings that were connected to the first. When fire crews arrived at the scene, they found that the homes were engulfed in flames and smoke.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Four firefighters were injured as a result of the incident. The parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment but they are expected to be okay.
Due to the severity of the fire, the area was blocked for an extended period of time. It took until midnight or later to get the fire completely under control.
The investigation into the circumstances of the fire continues.
