Manhattan, NY – 12 Injured in Apartment Fire on Riverside Dr

Manhattan, NY (November 19, 2020) – Around 5:45 a.m. on Thursday morning, November 19, multiple people were injured in a Manhattan apartment fire.

According to police, the two-alarm fire broke out in an apartment building located on Riverside Drive around the area of West 82nd Street. The fire initially occurred on the third floor of the apartment building.

Paramedics and fire crews were present at the scene for an extended period of time. Two people were being pulled out of a window on the third floor, which included a child and a woman. A total of seven civilians and five firefighters were injured but the extent of their injuries has not been revealed. The victims were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Fire crews confirmed that they had the fire under control around 7:11 a.m.

No further details have been released but the investigation into the circumstances leading up to the fire continues at this time.
