Manhattan, NY (October 22, 2020) – Around 3 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, October 20, a critical pedestrian accident took place at an intersection in Manhattan.
Police confirmed that the collision took place at the intersection of 5th Avenue and East 90th Street when a man in a wheelchair was struck by a vehicle that was traveling through the intersection at the same time.
The 94-year-old victim, whose name has not yet been released, was transported to the New York Presbyterian Hospital with lacerations to the head.
The driver of the vehicle, who did not receive injuries, remained at the scene of the accident and cooperated with the police.
Police worked the scene for several hours, which led to delays for some time.
The investigation into the accident is currently ongoing.
