Manhattan, NY (March 6, 2021) – Around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday night, March 4, a fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident occurred at an intersection in Manhattan.
According to police, the accident took place at the intersection of East 40th Street and First Avenue. At the time, a pedestrian was crossing East 40th Street when he was suddenly struck by a dark-colored sedan.
Police confirmed that the sedan fled the scene without the driver checking on the driver. Police have not yet found the responsible driver.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. The 92-year-old man was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead while there.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
