Manhattan, NY (March 7, 2021) – Around 8:30 a.m. on Friday morning, March 5, a pedestrian crash with injuries occurred at an outdoor dining area in Manhattan.

According to authorities, the collision took place at the intersection of Second Avenue and East 50th Street. A van collided with a black sedan when they entered the intersection at the same time. This sent the sedan into an outdoor seating area and debris flying all around. The van collided with scaffolding with three vendors and an outdoor dining area.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were present at the scene. Eight people, including two children, received injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
