Manhattan, NY – Serious Motorcycle Accident at W 116th St Intersection

Manhattan, NY (November 9, 2020) – Around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday night, November 8, a serious motorcycle accident took place in Manhattan.

According to the NYPD, the accident occurred at the intersection of West 116th Street and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard. Police confirmed that a man and a woman were riding a motorcycle headed northbound on Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard when a Volkswagen Jetta started to make a left turn.

The driver was not watching out for the motorcyclist, which was when the vehicle collided with the motorcycle. The man and woman were immediately ejected and suffered from severe injuries.

Paramedics were dispatched to assist at the scene of the accident. The two victims were taken to local hospitals in critical condition. Their current conditions are not yet known.

The 23-year-old driver of the Jetta was taken into custody by police on charges of driving while intoxicated. She has not yet been charged.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
