Staten Island, NY (March 8, 2021) – Around 7 a.m. on Saturday morning, March 6, a child was injured in a pedestrian accident on Staten Island.
According to police, the accident took place at 227 Broad Street when a child was struck by an FDNY truck traveling through the area. The vehicle remained at the scene of the crash.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were present at the scene. The child, who has only been identified as a 7-year-old, was taken to Richmond University Medical Center with critical injuries. Their condition is not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in several lanes for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
