Yonkers, NY – Two Injured in Pedestrian Accident on Lake Ave

Yonkers, NY (July 23, 2021) – On Friday morning, July 23, a pedestrian accident occurred at an intersection in Yonkers.

According to police, the accident happened at the intersection of Lake Avenue and Morningside Avenue. A woman and her infant child were walking in the area when they were suddenly struck by a passenger vehicle. The driver of the vehicle initially struck a parked vehicle and then the two pedestrians before it struck the side of a barber shop in the area.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately called to the scene to help those in need. The woman and her infant child sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the hospital. They are expected to recover from the injuries.

Police confirmed that the driver of the vehicle that struck them was also injured and driving without a license.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.

No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
