Long Island, NY (November 1, 2020) – Around 6 a.m. on Sunday, November 1, a home explosion occurred in Long Island.

The explosion took place at 15 West Avenue when police believe that natural gas inside the home was ignited. Flames surrounded the entire house and spread to two other homes beside it. Multiple witnesses claim that it sounded like a bomb went off inside the home.

Fire crews were active and fighting the fire when a wall inside one of the homes collapsed. Two firefighters were injured and airlifted to local hospitals. A male civilian was inside one of the homes and was airlifted to a hospital with bad burn injuries and severe smoke inhalation.

Fire crews were able to get the fire under control within several hours.

As of this time, fire officials and police are working on their investigation into the incident.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
