Queens, NY (January 22, 2021) – Before midnight on Wednesday, January 20, a man was killed in a fatal fire that took place at a home in Queens.

According to officials, the fire broke out at a home near the intersection of 147th Avenue and 258th Street. Few details have been released regarding the circumstances of the fire but fire crews found that the fire started on the second floor of the home. They were able to quickly get the blaze under control around 12:30 a.m.

When fire crews were able to completely distinguish the fire, they searched the home for anybody who could still be inside. There, they discovered a 56-year-old man both unconscious and unresponsive. He was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody else was injured as a result.

The investigation into the circumstances of the fire continues.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time.
