The Northport – East Northport Kiwanis Club proudly sponsored “The Amazing Race,” a unique fundraising event hosted by Book Fairies, a nonprofit organization that distributes books to children in underserved communities across Long Island and the New York area.
Our senior partner, Steven Miller, serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors for Book Fairies. His leadership and dedication to literacy advocacy played a vital role in supporting the success of this event.
In addition, managing partner Catherine Montiel, an active member of Kiwanis, led the Kiwanis-sponsored race team named “Kiwanis Kindles.” The team ran more than three miles, completed ten challenges, and crossed the finish line first—securing victory by just twenty-five seconds ahead of the second-place team.
The event concluded with a special check presentation from the Kiwanis Club to Book Fairies representatives. This contribution will help provide thousands of books to children who need them most, supporting education, imagination, and opportunity.
