According to NYPD officials, the accident happened at the intersection of East 138th Street and Exterior Street when a tractor-trailer collided with a pedestrian. When police arrived at the scene, they found a 71-year-old man lying in the roadway with extensive head injuries.

Police confirmed that 59-year-old William Augi was driving his 1974 MG headed north on North Ocean Avenue when his vehicle collided with a Nissan Murano at the intersection with Woodside Avenue due to unknown reasons.
The Nissan continued onward and struck a red pickup truck that fled the scene of the accident.
Police confirmed that Augi was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident due to his injuries. The other driver, identified as 44-year-old Rachel Heege, was taken to the hospital with injuries but is expected to be okay.
Both vehicles were badly damaged and removed from the scene by wreckers.

Bronx, NY (November 4, 2020) – Around 5:40 p.m. on Tuesday evening, November 3, a fatal hit-and-run pedestrian crash happened in the Bronx.
According to the New York Police Department, the accident happened as a 72-year-old man was crossing East 211th Street around the area of Paulding Avenue. He was suddenly struck by two vehicles. A white sedan was making a left turn when the driver struck the pedestrian and fled the scene, while the other driver remained at the scene.
The victim was immediately rushed to a local hospital for treatment. However, he was later pronounced dead due to the severity of his injuries.
Police have since confirmed that the victim only lived about a block away from where he was struck.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
