Bronx, NY (November 13, 2020) – Around 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 12, a fatal pedestrian accident took place at an intersection in the Bronx.

According to NYPD officials, the accident happened at the intersection of East 138^th Street and Exterior Street when a tractor-trailer collided with a pedestrian. When police arrived at the scene, they found a 71-year-old man lying in the roadway with extensive head injuries.

The man, who has not yet been fully identified, was rushed to a local hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Witnesses confirmed that a white tractor-trailer was traveling south on Exterior when it collided with the pedestrian while making a turn. The driver did not stop but police believe that the driver likely did not know that they struck a pedestrian.

Patchogue, NY (November 12, 2020) – Around 8:50 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11, a man was killed in a fatal accident in Patchogue.

Police confirmed that 59-year-old William Augi was driving his 1974 MG headed north on North Ocean Avenue when his vehicle collided with a Nissan Murano at the intersection with Woodside Avenue due to unknown reasons.

The Nissan continued onward and struck a red pickup truck that fled the scene of the accident.

Police confirmed that Augi was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident due to his injuries. The other driver, identified as 44-year-old Rachel Heege, was taken to the hospital with injuries but is expected to be okay.

Both vehicles were badly damaged and removed from the scene by wreckers.

Police confirmed that a cement truck driver was headed east on Bushwick Avenue when he ran into a pedestrian who was near an industrialized area. The accident occurred near Jefferson Street.

Police confirmed that 39-year-old Frank Davila was driving a moped headed south on Rosedale Avenue near the area of Bruckner Boulevard. He was suddenly struck by the driver of a gray Volvo.

The accident was so forceful that Davila was thrown from his moped. He sustained severe injuries as a result of the accident and was taken to Jacobi Medical Center. Police confirmed that he was pronounced dead while there.

The motorist who struck Davila was identified as 33-year-old Stephanie Mendez who was charged with driving while intoxicated.

Bronx, NY (November 4, 2020) – Around 5:40 p.m. on Tuesday evening, November 3, a fatal hit-and-run pedestrian crash happened in the Bronx.

According to the New York Police Department, the accident happened as a 72-year-old man was crossing East 211^th Street around the area of Paulding Avenue. He was suddenly struck by two vehicles. A white sedan was making a left turn when the driver struck the pedestrian and fled the scene, while the other driver remained at the scene.

The victim was immediately rushed to a local hospital for treatment. However, he was later pronounced dead due to the severity of his injuries.

Police have since confirmed that the victim only lived about a block away from where he was struck.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
